about
The Daring Man will be releasing a new single "Save
Me From The Cold" along with a music video on March
8, 2019.
Save Me From The Cold tells the tale of a man lost in
the corporate world, contributing to the destruction of
the environment. While enjoying the pleasures of wealth
and unrestrained consumption, he realises his life is
devoid of meaning. He calls out for help, hoping to be
rescued.
For this song the band decided to add a horn section,
which brings a 70's soul feel to the arrangements and
production. This choice is a reference to artists such as
Marvin Gaye, Van Morrison or Bill Withers.
lyrics
SAVE ME FROM THE COLD
I don’t want you to see
Who I am inside
‘Cos I know down deep in my soul
You would run and hide
Lets get lost in one another
Before the night gets old
I’ll do anything you want
To keep me from the cold
Feels like I don’t remember
Who I used to be
As if somewhere along the way
I lost the man in me
But this I promise you
Deep down in my soul
I’ll make love to you
Before the night gets old
Won’t you save me
Won’t you save me from the cold
Ever since I can remember
I’ve done what I’ve been told
Ever since I can forget
I’ve got this fear of getting old
But this I promise you
Deep down in my soul
There’s a man down there somewhere
Who’s soul has been sold
Won’t you save me
Won’t you save me from the cold
I’ve been working so hard
To be somebody
Left my pride on the side of the road
Drunk on greed and envy
I said and did what I was told
Just to get myself out of the cold
Don’t put the blame on me
Don’t you put the blame on me
Standing on the cracking ice floe
Can you hold my hand
I know the world is dying slow
I finally understand
But this I promise you
Even if I’m terrified
I tried to do everything I could
But it’s too late to turn the tide
Won’t you save me
Won’t you save me from the cold
